A Naming
Clutching the soft ball of fur gently in her prickly arms, Sasha cried out with excitement. This was to be her child, how excited she was! Though how dazed she was too, exhaustion after this tiring process she ought to take a nap. But something nagged at her to be answered, something hidden deep inside her dusty head.
“Ahhhh, Philip my dear, what shall we call him? Tell me what?” she muttered, her swelled eyes already fluttering, as if crazy fans flapping around cooling a family down.
“The child, let me see……,” pausing glued to his thoughts, unable to speak until he identified a name, and irritated if interrupted. ” WE shall call our son…,” a name was so difficult to materialize, he just wouldn’t make out that name.. it was concealed, just by the tip of his tongue, it wouldn’t flush out!” We’ll call him…
” That is perfect dear, oh am I lucky to have you, my hero, saved the Name-disaster! Now I guess I must…..,” so she broke offand slumped in her mattress in the poorly lit room, unaware of her husband’s direct stare at his crying son, figuring a smart way to stop him weeping. His eyes met his sons, and the little boy seized his cries, for some time, gazing through the galaxy of stars through them, a certain magical string tugging them together, leaving them unable to let go. As much as Philip tried, it wouldn’t work and he’d find himself attracted to the sorcery of his son’s eyes widely open and galring at him, the glare of some one trying to work out where they are, stuck in the middle of nowhere, a soft breeze blowing their hair through their eyes.
Before Philip could pronounce the name, Sasha had thought he had, fallen asleep and left him lying there. His brain full of names and words, searched and searched and searched, finally coming to a decision. Grinning madly from ear to ear, propping his glasses in place, he said it, and about time too,” I will call you, my dearly son, my blood my soul, my heart, every piece of me. I will name you…. Hartley, my dear gracious son, may this name stick to you from this second on!!
